Slivers-of-Time Working is for anyone with spare hours to sell to local employers.
This new way of working gives individuals immediate cash, all sorts of skills and a verified CV of successful short bookings. Employers get an ultra-flexible, motivated, pool of top-up workers who can be booked at short notice. They can be economically trained.
- Work-seekers run an online diary of the hours each particular day they are available for work. For example: "It's now 5.00 pm, I want to work between 6.00 and 9.00 this evening." They also define the types of bookings they will do, how far they'll travel and how their hourly rate is to be calculated for each booking.
- Employers input their needs, for example "3 people for 2 hours at lunchtime today", they see everyone who wants to do that specific booking ranked by reliability and hourly rate. They can buy instantly.
- Agencies operate marketplaces for Slivers-of-Time. They vet the participants and see them into the market. Their payrolling/invoicing systems take over once a timesheet for a booking is completed.
I'm interested. What do I do?
